Permanent Mission of the Russian Federation to the United Nations

On signing of Memoranda with UNICEF, UNFPA and WHO on granting Russia’s financial contributions

On December, 23 donor agreements on Russia’s 14 mln US dollar contributions to UNICEF, UNFPA and WHO for the implementation of projects in DPRK, Syria and Tajikistan were signed in New York.

Russia’s contributions will allow WHO and UNFPA to carry out projects on restoring health facilities in Syria and help UNICEF implement projects on fighting maternal and child death in DPRK. Two other UNFPA projects will be aimed at improving national statistical systems in DPRK and Tajikistan.

Following the signing the DPR Mr. Dmitry Chumakov said that Russia is interested in depoliticized and results-oriented international development cooperation and expects that the approved projects will assist the realization of national priorities in partner countries.
