On meetings on the sidelines of the High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development under the auspices of ECOSOC in New York
On 13 July, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Vershinin held bilateral meetings with Deputy Foreign Ministers of India and Brazil, Saurabh Kumar and Paulino de Carvalho, on the sidelines of the High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development under the auspices of ECOSOC.
The counterparts held a substantive exchange of opinions on pressing international and regional issues that stand on the agenda of the Security Council. Specific attention was paid to issues of ensuring global food security in light of COVID-19 related factors, climate agenda, and problems of the global financial and economic system. The discussions also addressed regional crises, including the situations in Ukraine and Syria, as well as UN peacekeeping activities in the context of maintaining peace and security.
