On a meeting of Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Sergey Vershinin with Permanent Representatives of CSTO member-states to the United Nations in New York
On 13 July, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Vershinin met with Permanent Representatives to the UN of member-states of the Collective Security Treaty Organization.
The meeting hosted a meaningful exchange of opinions on a number of global issues, including those standing on the agenda of the 76th session of the General Assembly, with a particular focus on coordination of efforts of CSTO members at the United Nations platform.
The participants of the meeting reiterated a shared position regarding the need to conjugate efforts along the UN-CSTO nexus with a view to giving an effective response to emerging threats and challenges, and also to boost cooperation of the UN and the CSTO in the area of peacekeeping.
