Statement by the Deputy Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN, S.B. Kononuchenko, at the 2018 United Nations Pledging Conference for Development Activities

Mr. Chairman,

Given the importance of timely voluntary contributions to the UN Funds and Programmes budgets in order to provide comprehensive and depoliticized assistance to programme countries in the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and decisions of other relevant international conferences in the field of sustainable development, the Russian Federation pledges to make the following voluntary contributions in 2018:

World Food Programme - $ 20 million;

United Nations Industrial Development Organization - $ 2.6 million;

Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees - $ 2 million;

Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights - $ 2 million;

United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime - $ 2 million;

The Central Emergency Response Fund of the United Nations - $ 1.5 million;

United Nations Development Program - $ 1.1 million;

Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs - $ 1 million;

United Nations Children's Fund - $ 1 million;

United Nations Environment Program - $ 900,000;

Joint United Nations Program on HIV / AIDS - $ 500,000;

United Nations Human Settlements Program (UN-Habitat) - $ 400,000;

United Nations Population Fund - $ 300,000;

The United Nations Institute for Training and Research - $ 200,000;

The volume and schedule of payments will depend on the actual execution of the Federal Budget of the Russian Federation.
