Permanent Mission of the Russian Federation to the United Nations

Remarks to the press by Ambassador Vitaly Churkin, Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the United Nations, before the Security Council meeting on Syria

V.Churkin: First of all we have circulated a very important paper today as an official document of the Security Council and also among you. I hope you have this paper - Comparative analysis of implementation of Russia-US agreement on Syria. Have you seen it?

Q: Yeah, but what is the point of circulating it among the members of the UNSC? Can you explain why do you want the Security Council to have this document?

V.Churkin: We want to have an objective picture about what has been happening and if we do have this objective picture I suppose it might be easier for us to try to find a way forward. It is going to be a long meeting. While we sit in that Russian room I hope that you study the abovementioned Russian paper. It is sort of “who is who” on CoH.
