Remarks to the press by Ambassador Vitaly Churkin, Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the United Nations
Q: Ambassador, what is your reaction to the fact that Russia has not been re-elected to the HRC?
V.Churkin: It was a very close vote and very good countries competing: Croatia, Hungary. They are fortunate because of their size. They are not as exposed to the winds of international diplomacy. Russia is quite exposed. We have been there (in HRC) for a number of years. I’m sure next time we are going to get it.
